Celebrating Janamashtami at Hindu Mission Temple, Montreal
The Hindu Mission Temple of Montreal celebrated Krishna Janamashtami on the evening of Saturday, August 28, 2016. Little naughty Krishnas were running around enjoying themselves. Devotees chanted till the birth time of Krishna.
Shri Keshav Dutt Shastriji from India carried on with the bhajans and kirtan accompanied by Pandit Kamal Nayanji. Ishwar Lalji started the evening chants. ISKCON was present. Devotees from Hare Rama Hare Krishna Conscious did special chants. Students of Sudeshna Maulik performed Kathak dance. A Yashoda and Krishna dance was also performed.
The evening was beaming with happiness and joy awaiting Krishna’s birth. At last at midnight, a small palki with a baby Krishna was carried by Kiran Kapoorji and others. All devotees seeked blessings at the lotus feet of Krishna. Prasad with Makhan was distributed. Children especially enjoyed the evening.
