Prime Minister of Canada,
Trudeau on Orthodox Easter
May 1, 2016, Ottawa, Ontario – The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, extends joyous wishes on the occasion of Orthodox Easter.
“This weekend, people of Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, and Eastern Catholic faith in Canada and around the world will gather with loved ones to celebrate Easter.
“On Sunday, friends and family will come together to enjoy the greatest of the feasts of the Orthodox Church – the feast of the Resurrection of the Lord.
“Easter is a time to mark the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is also an opportunity to show appreciation and gratitude for all of the many blessings we enjoy, and to think of how we can extend more compassion and humanity to others in our communities and around the world.
“On behalf of our family, Sophie and I wish all those who are celebrating a very joyful Easter.”
